Agreement
By accessing or using the website at microtopology.com, or by installing or using an application we publish, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the website or the applications.
If you use the services on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms. In that case, “you” includes the organisation.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and is part of these terms.
Who we are
The services are provided by Liangjiang New Area Weimang Topology Software Development Studio (Individually Owned Business) (Chinese legal name: 两江新区微茫拓扑软件开发工作室(个体工商户)), an individually owned business registered in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing, China under Unified Social Credit Code 92500157MAKNFWQE3R.

Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the services. In China, you must be at least 14 years old, or have verifiable consent from a parent or guardian, to use features that process personal information. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the services only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement and must not be barred from using the services under applicable law.
The services
We provide a corporate website, legal and contact information, and Android applications that are in development. The website describes our business and products. The applications provide the features described on their product pages, which may change as development continues.
Some products are not yet publicly available. References to a product, feature, platform or release date on this website are informational and do not create a commitment to deliver that product or feature. We may change, suspend or discontinue a product or feature, subject to applicable law and any separate terms that apply.
Accounts
Some features, such as optional sync, may require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity under your account to the extent permitted by law.
You may delete your account at any time using the process on the Account & Data Deletion page. We may suspend or terminate an account if it is used in violation of these terms or to harm another person or the services.
App licence and app stores
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use our applications on devices you own or control, for their intended purpose. This licence does not include the right to sublicense, resell, distribute or make the applications available to others.
If you download an application through Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. Google is not a party to these terms and does not provide support for our applications. Google may remove or restrict an application under its own policies. Open-source components included in an application are governed by their own licences, which prevail over these terms where they conflict.
We may provide updates, bug fixes or new versions. Some updates may be required for security or compatibility. We do not guarantee that an application will work on every device or operating-system version.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the services in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the services, accounts, systems or data;
- interfere with or disrupt the services, including by introducing malware, overloads or automated attacks;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble an application, except where permitted by law or an applicable open-source licence;
- scrape, harvest or extract data from the services in a way that is not permitted by these terms or applicable law;
- infringe the intellectual-property, privacy or other rights of another person;
- upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, malicious or harmful;
- use the services to send spam or to misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
- circumvent a security feature, permission control, rate limit or access restriction;
- resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the services without our written permission.
We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law-enforcement authorities where required. We may remove content or suspend access where we reasonably believe a violation has occurred.
Your content
You retain ownership of the notes, survey entries, files, photos, messages and other content you create or submit (“your content”). You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process, transmit and display your content only as needed to provide the services you request, including optional sync, support and backup. This licence ends when your content is deleted from our systems, except for residual copies in backups that are purged on our normal schedule and for content we must retain by law.
You are responsible for your content and for having the rights needed to submit it. Do not upload sensitive personal data about another person without a lawful basis. You should keep your own backups of important content; offline-first products reduce the risk of data loss but do not eliminate it.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us the right to use them without restriction or compensation. We will not publish your confidential information without permission.
Intellectual property
The website, applications, software, design, text, graphics, logos and other materials we create are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. “Weimang Topology”, “微茫拓扑” and our product names are our marks. You may not use them without written permission, except to refer accurately to our products.
These terms grant you only the limited rights expressly stated. No other licence, ownership or goodwill is transferred. Third-party photographs, trademarks and open-source components remain the property of their respective owners and are used under the licences identified on this website or in the relevant application.
Third-party services
The services may link to or rely on third-party services, including Google Play, Google Maps, Firebase and Wikimedia Commons. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by its own terms and policies.
Fees
The website and the products described on it are currently provided without a fee. If we introduce paid features, we will display the price and applicable terms before you purchase. Payments made through Google Play are processed by Google under its terms; we do not receive your full payment card details.
Unless required by law or expressly stated, fees are non-refundable. Nothing in these terms limits a statutory refund right you may have.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the services available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The services may be unavailable during maintenance, network failures, device limitations or events outside our reasonable control. Offline-first features are designed to reduce the impact of connectivity loss, but they cannot guarantee that data will never be lost.
We may change, update or discontinue a feature or product. If a change materially affects a paid service, we will provide reasonable notice and any remedy required by law.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the services are provided “as is” and “as available”. We disclaim all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the services will meet your requirements, that content will be accurate or complete, or that defects will be corrected.
The website provides general business and technical information. It is not professional, legal, financial, medical or safety advice. You are responsible for evaluating whether a product or piece of information is suitable for your situation.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a warranty or liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer rights.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising out of or related to the services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the services is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us for the service giving rise to the claim in the 12 months before the claim arose; or (b) USD 100 (or the equivalent in Chinese yuan).
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or wilful misconduct, or any other liability that applicable consumer law does not permit us to exclude.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Liangjiang New Area Weimang Topology Software Development Studio (Individually Owned Business), its operator and its service providers from claims, damages, losses and reasonable costs arising from your violation of these terms, your content, or your misuse of the services. This obligation does not apply to the extent the claim is caused by our own negligence or wilful misconduct.
Termination
You may stop using the services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the service would create a security or legal risk. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.
On termination, your licence to use the applications ends. You should delete any installed copy and request deletion of your account if you have one. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law and general provisions — will survive.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory consumer protection law that applies where you live, the courts with jurisdiction in Chongqing, China, have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or related to these terms or the services.
Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us at monyoung@microtopology.com so we can try to resolve the issue. Nothing in this section prevents you from bringing a claim in a court that has mandatory jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the services, law or business. The revised terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice on the website and, where appropriate, by email. By continuing to use the services after the effective date, you agree to the revised terms. If you do not agree, stop using the services.
General
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. You may not assign your rights under these terms without our written consent; we may assign our rights in connection with a merger, acquisition or transfer of the business. Neither party is liable for a delay caused by an event beyond its reasonable control.
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any terms displayed for a specific product, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the services. In the event of a conflict, product-specific terms prevail for that product, and the Privacy Policy prevails on matters of personal-data processing.
The English version of these terms is the authoritative version. If we provide a translation, the English version controls to the extent permitted by law.
